A Prepared Church

A Prepared Church

March may provide the most enjoyable weather of the year. The mild temperatures, abundant sunshine, and lack of gnats make me want to stay outside as long as possible! During long stretches of good weather, we begin ignore forecasts in anticipation more beautiful days to come. Along comes a storm. While it does not come as a surprise, it does arrive unexpected.

This season of ministry has felt like a beautiful sunny week. I’m so thankful for the way the Lord is at work in our lives and in our church. From new ministry opportunities to new professions of faith, there are many reasons to be encouraged. As we think about the future and the great days that lie ahead, there is also a need to prepare for pop-ups and storm fronts that may move through our lives.

We are constantly reminded in scripture to expect trials (James 1:2), problems (John 16:33), and even persecution (1 Thessalonians 3:3-4). We are to expect it, prepare for it, and remind ourselves that God’s grace is fully sufficient for any season. Over the next few weeks, the Wednesday night prayer group will be walking through the armor of God to prepare for the amazing work that God is going to bring about through us!
